ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – Full Time

Job Description: Under the direction of the FGP Director, perform administrative details related to the daily operation of the Foster Grandparent program, which operates in Westchester, Putnam, Orange, Dutchess, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • College background
  • General office knowledge and professional decorum
  • Driver’s License
  • Previous administrative, Secretarial skills, and basic accounting skills.
  • Organizational skills
  • Computer and technology skills (database, Excel, Microsoft Suite, ZOOM, Google Suite, Microsoft Teams)
  • Customer service, Phone etiquette

Preferred Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Work Location:

  • Main Office in Elmsford, NY, with possibility for hybrid work schedule after 3-month probationary period. Ability to drive, commute and/or relocate.

Job Type: Full-time

  • Pay: $18.30 – $21.97 per hour

UPSTATE FIELD SUPERVISOR – Full Time

Job Description: Assist the Foster Grandparent Program Director in the effective development and administration of the program.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and meet with eligible senior citizens to work in the program throughout Dutchess, Ulster, Orange, and Sullivan counties
  • Enroll seniors and place them in appropriate work sites in all four counties
  • Develop meaningful work sites through the four counties
  • Supervise and meet with seniors at work sites throughout all four counties to ensure program compliance with funding source guidelines
  • Evaluate the performance of seniors
  • Prepare timesheets and submit them to the payroll department and distribute stipend checks
  • Provide supportive services to foster grandparents
  • Maintain attendance records of foster grandparents
  • Organize and attend the monthly meetings for foster grandparents in Dutchess, Ulster, Orange, and Sullivan counties
  • Organize special events and trips
  • Publicize the program throughout the counties by attending senior programs
  • Maintain contact with other agencies providing services to seniors
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Accept speaking engagements as necessary to advertise the Foster Grandparent Program and to recruit seniors for the FGP program

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, courses in gerontology preferred, one year of experience working with seniors, strong interpersonal skills, and knowledge of community services
