ECAP AFTER SCHOOL/SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe has awarded Westchester Community Opportunity Program, Inc. (WestCOP) a $52,000 grant for the after-school and summer enrichment program for dozens of children who use the Eastchester Community Action Partnership (ECAP) in Tuckahoe (servicing Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe).

This grant allowed ECAP to offer its summer enrichment program, which included field trips to museums, zoos and water parks during the summer. The program also took the children on weekly trips to Lake Isle where they learned to swim.

Beginning in the September, this grant will support the after-school program which provides academic enrichment activities throughout the school year.

This is a true community project, which is supported by other local partners including the Rotary Club, Concordia and Sarah Lawrence Colleges. Amy Korb, Executive Director, The Community Fund, shared that, “the Fund is pleased to provide this grant to WestCOP and the ECAP specifically, because of the wonderful experiences afforded the children.”

Roland Grant, Chairman of WestCOP Board of Directors, expresses his “thanks to The Community Fund for its long commitment and support for the WestCOP ECAP summer and academic enrichment program.”
