Eviction Prevention

WestCOP provides eviction prevention grants through United Way to qualified renters, based on completing an application and providing required documents. If we are unable to assist, a referral can be made for assistance from another agency. Clients can only be assisted with payment on one month’s rent.

Clients MUST first apply at their local Department of Social Services office locations listed below:

  • Mt. Vernon – 100 East First Street
  • Peekskill – 750 Washington Avenue
  • White Plains – 85 Court Street
  • Yonkers – 131 Warburton Avenue

Utility Shut-Off Prevention

WestCOP provides assistance to clients with a Con Edison turn-off notice. Terms of assistance vary. Applicants are required to complete an application and provide documentation. The Con Edison bill has to be in the applicant’s name.
