Connecting Seniors and Disable Individuals to Core Benefits

WestCOP’s Benefits Enrollment Center (BEC) is part of the National Council on Aging (NCOA) network dedicated to helping low-income, Medicare-eligible seniors and persons with disabilities to identify and apply for benefits programs. WestCOP’s BEC provides help to eligible residents in Westchester and Putnam counties for the following 5 Core Benefits (but not limited to):

  • Medicare Part D Extra Help/Low-Income Subsidy
  • Medicaid Savings Programs
  • Medicaid
  • SNAP
  • LIHEAP: Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program

We use web-based and virtual tools to assist low-income seniors and persons with disabilities find and enroll in all the benefits programs for which they are eligible, and create coordinated, community-wide systems of benefits access.

BECs also help seniors and adults with disabilities to apply for other programs, such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI), State Pharmaceutical Assistance Programs, local transportation assistance, tax relief, and more.

**A brief application process provides a printed report of benefits you qualify for as well as how to apply. The good news is we have a team waiting to assist virtually should you need assistance with applying for any benefits you qualify for.

Our job is to ensure you are receiving all the benefits in which you qualify, in addition to having the least amount of out-of-pocket expenses!
